serenity (picture essay)

I’ve lived in many different places before. So could say I’m not exactly from anywhere. But if I had to choose from pervious places I would choose Monterey, CA. Monterey is very close to the beach. When I was younger my father, our dog nahdar, and I would sometimes drive down to Monterey bay. I would pack my PB&J and be on my way. When we would get there you could instantly smell the salty ocean water and the sound of waves smacking the sand as they crashed upon the shore. The beautiful consistent song from the seagulls above rang throughout the beachy scenery.
As the car came to a halt I leapt out of the car and ran as fast as my little legs could carry me to the ocean. The burst of rushing cool water amazing as it splashed nahdar and I. the thick, sloppy, and wet feel of his fur and stench of wet dog amused me. As the day and ocean calms my father, nahdar, and I walk all along the beach letting the light waves soak our toes in the sand. As we walked along I would count the number of paw prints that were imprinted in the sand. And giggle as I compared my very small feet to my fathers. As we walked back to the car I snacked on my PB&J. this is my peaceful and most serene place.
